Not so much fame or glory

IMG_0166

With so many books, I guess mine didn’t really stand out.

You might remember from one of my earlier posts (For fame and glory!) that I had submitted work to the Washington State Library Journal Self-Published e-book Awards. Well, the winners have been announced and the first place winner is. . . . .

not me.

Second, third, and honorable mention-

Also not me.

My highly esteemed ranking in the competition was Participant #247. Which isn’t terrible, it just isn’t good. Needless to say, I’m totally bummed out about it.

A good place to drown my sorrows.

A good place to drown my sorrows.

So I’m drowning my sorrows with microwaved burritos and grumbling to myself about how the competition was probably rigged or something.

My sorrow is being drown by donuts too.

  1. As long as there were more than 246 entries, 247th is an accomplishment to take satisfaction in. You did the work, you put it out there. And you put yourself out there. That is a worthy effort to be proud of in and of itself. Keep on with the writing, keep on submitting your efforts, and enjoy the satisfaction that comes with knowing you are doing what you enjoy doing.
